In the past, Gene Berman has maintained membership in professional organizations such as the Urban Land Institute and the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP).
The leading organization for real estate developers, investors, and owners in the commercial/industrial real estate industry, the NAIOP offers several scholarships aimed at cultivating an inclusive and culturally diverse workforce. In partnership with Prologis, the NAIOP offers a scholarship for up to 20 women and underrepresented minorities with at least 5 years of experience in the real estate industry. The scholarship funds coursework required for the NAIOP Certificate of Advanced Study in Commercial Real Estate Development, as well as a travel stipend to attend NAIOP’s annual conference.
Additionally, the organization’s Diversity Student Scholarship is available to students at NAIOP member schools, with preference given to those who have been underrepresented in the field of commercial real estate.
